  • 01Storage / supply — ingredient tanks or silos hold raw materials; weigh modules track level-by-weight and feed the dosing sequence.
  • 02Dosing feeder — valve, screw, or vibratory feeder delivers each ingredient at coarse & fine speed; controller closes the feed on preact cutoff.
  • 03Weigh hopper — up to 31 ingredients accumulate with tolerance check and jog top-up before the batch is released to the mixer or packaging line.

What buyers ask first.

Procurement questions that come up on every dosing and batching project — PLC replacement, batch ingredient limits, W&M approvals, ATEX, and load-cell compatibility.

5 Questions
  • For the great majority of batching duties — recipe execution, fast/slow feed control, tolerance checks, jog top-ups, batch logging, fieldbus reporting — yes. The IT2000M and IT6000E BATCH controllers are purpose-built for it, with 31-material recipes, multi-protocol fieldbus, and full operator-prompt UIs. A PLC remains useful when you need plant-wide sequencing across many cells or non-weight-driven steps (temperature, pressure interlocks, complex motion). In those cases the indicator still acts as the dosing-loop master and the PLC handles supervisory logic.

  • Up to 31 materials per recipe on both the IT2000M BATCH and IT6000E BATCH. Recipes are stored on-controller and edited through the PC BATCH application. Production data — batch totals, raw-material usage, error reports — is logged per batch and exportable via Ethernet, USB, or printer.

  • The Systec IT-series controllers carry NTEP approval as indicating elements (in addition to their EU Type-examination certificates under OIML R76-1 and R107). NIST HB-44 conformance is documented per model and capacity. Confirm the exact NTEP CC number against the latest cert before any legal-for-trade install — we keep the current certs on file and will ship copies with the quote.

  • Yes — Ex2/22 versions of the IT4000E DOS, IT6000E DOS, IT2000M BATCH, IT6000E BATCH, and IT6000E BULK are available from Systec for installation in zones 2 and 22. The IT2000M BATCH also supports Zener-barrier-fed Exi load-cell setups (max 15,000 d / 3,000 d for W&M). Confirm exact part numbers and availability at quote time.

  • Almost always. The IT-series accepts up to 16 strain-gauge load cells in 4- or 6-wire mode over 43–3,300 Ω. If you already have analog hopper cells, silo cells, or floor scales, the indicator is a drop-in replacement for whatever controller is on them today. For the few cases where existing cells are out of spec, we’ll quote a cell upgrade as part of the BOM.
