Liquid filling controller for drums, kegs, canisters, and IBCs.

The IT2000M FILL is a precise, W&M-approved controller for gravimetric liquid filling. Handles single containers or multi-container lines, in semi-automatic or fully-automatic operation, with above-surface or below-surface filling modes. Suited for chemicals, food liquids, pharmaceutical actives, and industrial fluids where accurate per-container fills are required by the buyer, the regulator, or both.

The controller drives filling lances, valves, and container movement directly through its digital I/O. Auto-tare resets the scale before each container, two-speed fill (fast + dribble) hits the target weight without over-fill, and trend-sensing preact adjustment compensates for flow-rate drift as the supply tank empties or temperature changes.

    02 / 06The drum filling cycle

    Repeatable, in-spec, hands-off liquid filling.

A typical drum filling cycle on the IT2000M FILL:

    1. 01Select product, enter target weight and container count.
    2. 02System reaches ready status; filling starts manually (button press) or via external signal from the line controller.
    3. 03Auto-tare function resets the scale to zero before filling each container (compensates for drum-to-drum tare weight variance).
    4. 04Lower the fill lance into the drum (below-surface mode) or position over (above-surface mode).
    5. 05Fill at fast then dribble speed, while monitoring fill time and material flow continuously.
    6. 06Raise the fill lance once dribble feed stops.
    7. 07Check weight tolerance; if out of spec, trigger automatic preact adjustment for the next container.
    8. 08End of cycle; ready for the next container (advance conveyor, signal palletizer, or wait for operator).
Above- vs. below-surface filling: Above-surface mode is the standard configuration — the fill lance pours from above. Below-surface mode dips the lance into the drum and raises as the fill progresses; useful for foamy liquids, volatile chemicals where vapor capture matters, or viscous products that would splash.
    03 / 06Where it fits

    From single-drum to fully-automated multi-container lines.

    CHEMICAL

    Solvent, resin, lubricant drumming

Below-surface fill mode for volatile or foamy products. Drives explosion-rated valve actuators through digital outputs. AGFI W&M certification suits commercial sale-by-weight applications.

    FOOD

    Edible oils, syrups, sauces

Drum and IBC filling for industrial food liquids. Sanitary scale + IT2000M FILL means repeatable per-container weights with archived per-batch records.

    PHARMA

    Liquid active ingredient transfer

Gravimetric filling into transport containers with sealed data archive supporting GMP traceability. Operator-prompt sequences capture lot numbers per fill.

    INDUSTRIAL

    Water-based products, paints, inks

Bulk fill into 55-gallon drums, IBCs, or smaller kegs. Two-speed fill with preact adjustment keeps fills in spec across viscosity ranges.

    04 / 06About the IT2000M platform

One hardware module, three application firmwares.

The IT2000M is SysTec's W&M-approved weighing and filling controller in a compact stainless-steel DIN-rail housing. Same module across the BAG, BATCH, and FILL variants — the firmware loaded onto it determines whether it acts as a bag filling controller, multi-ingredient batchweighing controller, or liquid filling controller.

Every variant delivers the same baseline: 10,000 d W&M approval, 524,000 d internal resolution, 50–800 weight readings per second, 8 × 350 Ω load cell support, and Ethernet / Modbus TCP + USB as standard. PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP, EtherNet/IP, serial, and additional analog I/O all available via plug-in expansion modules.

    06 / 06FAQ

Common questions about the IT2000M FILL.

When should I use above- vs. below-surface filling?

Above-surface fill is the default — lance positioned over the drum, simple plumbing. Switch to below-surface when (a) the liquid foams aggressively, (b) volatile vapors must be contained, or (c) the product is viscous enough that splash from above-surface fill is unacceptable. The IT2000M FILL handles both modes; the choice is plumbing and lance hardware on the line.

Can it run a fully unattended multi-container line?

Yes. With container conveyor control on the digital I/O, the controller advances the next container onto the scale automatically after each fill cycle completes. Stop conditions (low product, out-of-tolerance fill, scale overload, e-stop) all trigger automatic shutdown with operator alarm.

Does it work with explosion-proof installations?

The IT2000M FILL itself is a control-cabinet device (IP20) and is not directly explosion-rated. For ATEX / IECEx zoned areas, the standard pattern is to mount the IT2000M FILL in a safe-area cabinet and drive the in-zone valve actuators through intrinsically-safe or explosion-rated interface modules. SysTec offers application notes for ATEX zone 1 and zone 2 installations — ask sales for guidance.

What integrates with PLC / SCADA?

Standard Ethernet / Modbus TCP and USB interfaces work out of the box with most PC-based SCADA. For native fieldbus to SIEMENS S7, PCS7, or other industrial PLCs, add the PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP, or EtherNet/IP plug-in module to the IT2000M FILL.

    How precise are the fills?

Per-fill tolerance is set in the recipe and enforced through the two-speed fast/dribble cycle. The 524,000 d internal resolution and 50-to-800 weight-reading-per-second sample rate let the dribble cut-off hit the target very tightly — typical fills land within a fraction of a percent of target on a properly calibrated scale.

What's the difference between IT2000M FILL and the larger IT6000E / IT8000E filling controllers?

The IT2000M FILL is the compact DIN-rail variant — built for single-station fill cells or simple multi-container lines, mounted in a control cabinet. The IT6000E (wall/desk panel) and IT8000E (panel-mount full HMI) handle larger operator-interface needs, more complex multi-line coordination, and applications where a standalone field-mounted terminal is preferred over a cabinet-mounted module.
