    The Laumas CLM8 is an intelligent junction box with 8 independent channels for load cells. It adds digital equalization, load distribution analysis and automatic diagnostics, a backlit LCD with a 4-key keyboard, and RS485/RS232 communication. This page describes the family; use the table below to pick the version your installation needs.

    Choose the version for your installation.

    All Laumas CLM8 versions share the same instrument and specifications; they differ in mounting and enclosure. The board and DIN rail versions have no enclosure and the datasheet states no IP rating for them: install them in a panel or protective enclosure. The stainless steel and polycarbonate boxes are IP67 (datasheet p.1). Click the SKU's own page for details.

    Intelligent functions on every version.

    Digital equalization

    Place a sample weight at each load cell and the 8 channels are equalized digitally in one step, free of drift over time.

    Load distribution analysis

    Shows the load percentage on each active channel, with an archive to store, consult and print.

    Automatic diagnostics

    Detailed diagnostics of each load cell (max. 8) and immediate reporting of anomalies, including on a connected weight indicator.

    Communication

    RS485 and RS232 with ModBus RTU, ASCII Laumas or continuous one-way transmission. Up to 32 instruments on one RS485 line (99 with repeaters).

    Tilt compensation (optional)

    With an optional inclinometer (not included) the weight is corrected for tilt up to ±10°.

    Event archive

    Stores the last 50 significant events: zeroing, calibration, equalization and alarms.

    Related WeightechUSA product: the WeightechUSA WTX-CLM8 smart junction box (SKU 23118) is a separate WeightechUSA product built around the CLM8 board in an IP67 stainless steel box with its own power supply. It has its own datasheet and is not one of the Laumas versions in the table above.

    Which CLM8 version should I choose?

    Choose the board (23116) or DIN rail (23114) version to build into your own panel or enclosure, or a boxed IP67 version (stainless steel 23117, polycarbonate 23128) for a ready-to-mount unit.

    What is the working temperature for legal-for-trade use?

    -10 to +40 °C for type-approved instruments (OIML R76:2006 class III, 3 x 10000 divisions). The general working range is -20 to +60 °C.

    Is Ethernet included?

    No. Ethernet TCP/IP is an option on request (OPZETTCPCLM); the standard ports are RS485 and RS232.
